Customers subscribe to your API plans through PayFence's Stripe Connect checkout. Payment goes to your Stripe account.

Via Stripe Connect's application fee, PayFence takes its share at the time of each transaction. No invoices, no manual payments.
You receive the rest directly in Stripe
Revenue flows to your Stripe account on Stripe's standard payout schedule. PayFence never holds your funds.

How does the 9.99% fee work?+
PayFence takes 9.99% of the API revenue that flows through our platform. When your customer pays for API access via Stripe, PayFence automatically collects the fee as an application fee through Stripe Connect. The rest goes directly to your Stripe account. No invoices, no manual payments.
How does the free tier work?+
Every site gets 500 API calls per month for free, with no expiration and no credit card required. If your API plans are $0 (free-tier plans for your consumers), PayFence never charges a fee. The 9.99% revenue share only applies when your consumers pay for API access.
Are there any other fees?+
No hidden fees from PayFence. Standard Stripe processing fees (~2.9% + $0.30) apply separately and are charged by Stripe directly. There are no monthly platform fees, no per-request charges, and no setup costs.
What about Stripe's fees?+
Stripe charges its standard processing fees (~2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) separately. These are between Stripe and your customer. PayFence's 9.99% is calculated on the net amount after Stripe's fees. Total platform take is approximately 13% — well below app store rates of 15-30%.
Can I offer annual billing to my customers?+
Yes. When creating a plan, choose monthly or annual billing. Annual plans charge the full year upfront via Stripe, so you get better cash flow and your customers get a commitment discount. Quotas reset each billing period automatically.
What if I'm processing more than $50K/mo?+
Contact us for enterprise pricing. High-volume API providers get a custom rate that reflects the scale of the partnership. We'll also provide dedicated support, custom SLAs, and extended audit log retention.
